Starting as just a concept in 1926, our story begins with Stanley McDonald and his vision to provide the best automotive experience to his community. Over the decades, our family has embraced change and innovation, adapting to the ever-evolving automotive industry. From pioneering customer service practices to integrating cutting-edge technology, McDonald Automotive has consistently prioritized the needs of our customers.

As McDonald Automotive expanded, so did our commitment to the local community. Today, our group of dealerships encompass eight different brands and 14 rooftops, each designed to meet diverse customer needs while maintaining a strong community focus. From sponsoring local events to supporting charitable initiatives, McDonald Automotive has made it a priority to give back, demonstrating that our roots are firmly planted in the neighborhoods we serve.

    A Life-Changing Opportunity

     

    When a local Dodge store began hiring, offering a demo car for each salesperson, Stanley McDonald seized the opportunity to enter the car industry, launching a journey that would change his and his family’s future.

  • 1948

    Values That Built A Dealership


    For 20 years, Stanley’s hard work and integrity established a strong reputation, leading him to buy his own Dodge store in Roswell, New Mexico in 1948.

  • 1958

    In 1958, Doug McDonald joined his father Stanley in the family business. In addition to selling Dodges, they were given the opportunity to buy their own Volkswagen store in Roswell, New Mexico.

  • 1965

    New Beginnings: Our Journey to Colorado

    Seeing greater potential in Littleton, Colorado, Doug and Stanley sold their New Mexico locations, and opened our Volkswagen store at our current S Broadway location on April 1st, 1965.

  • 1989

    Three Generations: One Purpose

    Throughout their high school and college years, Doug and Linda’s 5 sons started working summer jobs detailing cars and selling parts for the dealerships.
    In 1989, Michael McDonald graduated from the University of Oklahoma and started working for his father full-time.
    After starting full time, Michael and Doug were given the opportunity to expand their footprint along Broadway by purchasing Monarch Mazda and Volvo.

    A Legacy Established


    After purchasing Pioneer Audi a few years earlier, and a new Hyundai location opening, we pivoted into one holistic entity, known today as McDonald Automotive Group.

    In 2000, we opened our own Collision Center to provide a seamless and structured process for our customers, ensuring service we stand behind every step in the automotive journey.

    In April, after months of success in the Town of Parker, we took the opportunity to grow Audi Denver Service in Parker into a full sales and finance option for Audi lovers across the Front Range.Just a few months later in July, we developed Genesis into it’s very own location here on Broadway, creating the one of the first stand alone Genesis dealers in Colorado.
